I am excited to announce the switch to the new website! I have been working closely with the rest of the Woodbridge Board to come up with a structure that is both functional and useful to members. Here is a list of features included in this website update:
Member directory – The Woodbridge Website just got more interactive! Members get their profile page on which they can update their bios, websites, and email addresses. Every time a logged-in member posts a comment, it appears on their profile. If you are logged-in, when you click the Members tab in the navigation menu you are taken to the directory which lists all of the members in alphabetical order, but you can also hit search if you can’t remember the last name. Every Woodbridge member subscribed to the list is automatically a member and vice versa. If you are subscribed on the list but you did not receive an email with your login credentials, please shoot me an email. Note: please don’t email me until after tomorrow since we are working with a large group of people so your email might be delayed and still reach you tonight.
Forum – The forum will (hopefully) serve as a hub for discussions between Woodbridge members on a variety of topics – from parties, to career connections!
Member-protected Content: We are committed to protect your privacy, so we have restricted certain pages that contain data such as email addresses or personal website urls to Woodbridge Members only.
Store – We are introducing a store where you can buy Woodbridge Merchandise and Tickets for various events. For now, only the tickets link is working, but we are working on introducing more store items (including t-shirts, sweatshirts, shot glasses, and more!) very soon, so check back again.
Featured Monthly Post – Just beneath the navigation menu you will find the featured monthly post slider which – as the name suggests – contains one post from each month that we thought was especially interesting/meaningful to write about.
Latest Events & Co-Sponsored Events – These sliders brings you posters from the latest events we are preparing or that have happened in the close past. Click the title to be taken to the calendar page for that particular event.
Calendar – Never miss a Woodbridge event! Browse the event categories, pick your events and easily add them to your Google Calendar, iCal or Outlook!
Quick application links – Just below the featured posts slider, you will find three columns: DIFA Application, FIP Leader Application, and Committees Application. When applications are being accepted these will be open and you will be able to submit your application directly through the website. When applications are closed, you will see a reference page featuring content from the previous year applications.
Seasonal background – Perhaps not very beneficial in terms of functionality, but the background on the website featuring Harvard Yard changes depending on the season.
This is by no means the end of list of features I have planned for the website. Most urgently, in the upcoming weeks I will be working on the following:
Alumni link: this page will serve as a database of alumni who have agreed to share their info with us. You will be able to browse the directory according to geographical region, profession, and year of graduation, among other things.
