Aleksandar is a rising senior hailing from the little-big country of Macedonia. At Harvard, he has found the warmth of home away from home in the beautiful and remote Pforzheimer House. He is concentrating in Social Studies with a focus on social theory and intellectual history. One of the few representatives of his small country in this part of the world, Aleks has always felt that Woodbridge is his big happy family, and he is proud to contribute to the fostering of a welcoming community spirit for generations to come. His true Woodbridge love, however, will always be the amazing Outreach Committee, which has historically provided Woodbridgers with the opportunity to meet Harvard faculty members and munch on sushi, samosas, and all sorts of internationally-inspired delicious goodies. When he is not dazed and confused in the Harvard bubble, he is likely to be found in one of the many Cambridge coffeehouses, with a book in the one hand and a coffee cup in the other. Do not hesitate to contact him if you have any questions about the Woodbridge International Society.

Yannis is a rising senior in Leverett House from Thessaloniki, Greece (no this is not close to Athens)! He attended a German High School in Greece and is always looking for opportunities to practice his German, which is fading away due to prolonged presence in the US. Currently, he is studying Human Regenerative Biology with a secondary concentration in Statistics and working as an undergraduate researcher to understand how neural stem cells are regulated in the adult. After college, Yannis plans to attend medical school or pursue an MD/PhD degree. In his free time Yannis starts various activities that he soon abandons. His one true love, however, is Woodbridge, of which he is currently the Co-President. From time to time he also gets involved in the queer community at Harvard and in Boston.

Shambhavi is a rising senior (GASP) from New Delhi/Mumbai India. Though she has moved between a lot of places in India she decidedly calls Delhi her home. Home at Harvard is the amazing Pforzheimer House, yep the BEST housing :) Shambhavi took several classes in varying subjects in freshman year, only to realize that she has no clue of what her concentration is going to be (freshman, do not fear confusion!) Finally, Shambhavi’s love for Chemistry won out and is now her declared concentration. Apart from Woodbridge, Shambhavi is involved in the International Relations Council, the Institute of Politics and Ghungroo. She has been commended for her stalking abilities, so she might just find you on her own, but e-mail her whenever you want to! She would like you to know some facts about life: 1. The Quad is NOT that far away. 2. Pfoho IS the best house on campus 3.Harvard is awesome.

Nicole Paulet Piedra is a junior in Leverett House. She grew up in Piura, Peru, but spent two years at the United World College in Montezuma, New Mexico. She studies Social Studies, with a focus on social policy and inequality in Latin America. Nicole is pursuing a language citation in Portuguese and will be studying abroad in Brazil next spring. Outside the classroom, she sings with the Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus and dances with Candela Salsa. She is also part of the Harvard Organization for Latin America and volunteers at the College Access Program with the Student Immigrant Movement in Boston.

Hi everyone, this is Gamze, coming all the way from beautiful Istanbul, Turkey. She’s Woodbridge International Society’s SEXY social chair and will ensure that you have a great time (from teas to parties!). On the dance floor, you’ll see her rock it out when she’s not DJ-ing some HOT music. Also, if you have any input on activities or social events – feel free to contact her! She is a talented artist who can act, sing, and take gorgeous photos! Neuropsychology’s her concentration and because she’s infatuated with French and Spanish she’s also thinking of a getting a citation in these languages. Gamze’s really kind, sweet and approachable so if you have any questions – about FIP, life, Harvard, boy/girl problems, etc. – don’t hesitate to go talk to her and if you’re lucky you might even get some Turkish delights, yum!

I am a southern belle by birth (I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) but moved to India with my father when I was two years old. I am of Indian origin and have lived my entire life in India ever since. I really like hiking – I grew up in a boarding school in the Himalayas in India and trekked a lot growing up. I also took a gap year, which I absolutely loved, before coming to Harvard. I now run Himalayan Gap (www.himalayangap.com), a gap year program set in the Himalayas in India and Nepal. I must also mention that some of the most memorable conversations and experiences I have had at Woodbridge have been through the Outreach Committee. Besides hosting events ranging from sushi-making to picnics along the Charles to dinner with faculty members to Surrealist movie screenings, Outreach is above all a very warm family within the family of Woodbridge! So come on aboard!

Moni Anne Trac is a rising junior in Leverett House (which you soon will find out is the best House on campus)! Moni is French-Cambodian, but she studied in Australia (you can tell by her beautiful accent). She is concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Visual and Environmental Studies, but she is not only an incredible visual artist, she also plays the piano and sings wonderfully. During her time at Harvard, Moni has danced with the Asian American Dance Troup and the Breakers. There is too much talent in her! Moni is also part of Delta Gamma, one of the three sororities on campus, and she works with the Business Board of the Crimson, Harvard’s daily newspaper. Moni is probably one of the sweetest, most caring girls you will meet. She is fun, creative and simply a very lovable person.

Hey guys, I’m Nina Buchmann and I m your DIFA (Dictator – *cough cough* – Director of International Freshman Affairs) for this year s FIP. This means that I am utterly obsessed with planning my life along with those of everyone else around me! It also means that if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions you can come talk to me right away and I will be able to help you. (I mean, you can go to other FIP leaders, they will be helpful as well, but I would love to meet all of you individually, so just come find me!) To talk a little about myself, I m from Frankfurt, Germany and am a rising junior, living in Leverett House (aka the best house on campus). I am an economics concentrator with a great degree of love for international relations and finance. Please don t be intimidated by my running around, it stems from my being a perfectionist and if you do appreciate German sense of humor, I m full of it and already love you. But even if you don t, we can still be friends, I m actually a very caring and friendly person (I promise).

Evgenija goes by Eva not only because it’s easier to pronounce but because no one with the exception of teachers and professors in her academic career has called her anything but Eva (yes, including her parents). Eva is from Macedonia, plans on concentrating in Government, with a secondary in Psychology and is currently a freshman living in Canday, enjoying its spaciousness and strategic location. Outside the classroom, she is involved with IOP as a Member at Large and as an event coordinator for SPEV, HNMUN, and the Harvard PSC. Eva loves Italian food, web comics, and talking about politics. Oh and the internet. She loves the internet. She promises she is way cooler than this description makes her sound.
