The Director of International Freshman Affairs (DIFA) is a paid, application-only position on the Woodbridge Executive Board. The primary role of the DIFA is to work together with the Freshman Dean’s Office and the Harvard International Office to plan, organize, and execute the Freshman International Program for incoming international students as part of the Freshman Dean’s Office’s pre-orientation programming. This program and the hard work of the DIFA in planning it are critical to the successful transition of students coming to Harvard College from all over the world. In addition the DIFA will be responsible for maintaining support structures for the freshmen throughout their first year in the College, building and strengthening the international community, and working closely with the administration on ongoing issues of support for new international students. The DIFA performs these functions under the supervision and oversight of the Freshman Dean’s Office and the Harvard International Office. The DIFA will receive a stipend of $1000 for a one-year term beginning January 2013 and ending December 2013.
